Who is the King of Swords?

The King of Swords has got his shit together and all his ducks are in a row. His organization, intellect and wits are unmatched. When he shows up in a reading, he's telling you that the best outcome of the situation will come from evaluating the logistics, and making your decision for you, without the opinion of others in mind. This King is rooted in his personal power, and his unwavering confidence allows him to communicate in a way that is impossible to misconstrue. He is oh so rational, to the point where you don't wanna hear what he's saying, but you know you need it.

The King of Swords is not the friend you call when you just want to complain, so don't invite him to your pity party, he's not interested. He's the friend that you call when you want honesty, clarity and a little bit of direction. His advice is to observe your emotions, without letting them dictate your responses and behavior. He asks you to truly express yourself, unapologetically, from a balanced position. He wants you to embody the sense of self-trust that allows him to master his own intellect. When you pull the King of Swords, just know that it’s time to be confident in your actions, and to communicate your truth, for you and only you.

Crystals are directly from the Earth, so it only makes sense that they are conduits for healing. Although you may not feel it, they quite literally “vibrate” & emit a range of energizing, positive, uplifting, & calming vibrations to help you achieve a more peaceful, balanced state of being. Each beautiful stone has unique emotional, spiritual, & physical healing properties, so they can support you in all your endeavors while also growing the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Be sure to cleanse Crystals before working with them. This can be done by burying them, laying them on another cleansing Crystal (like Selenite), doing a smoke cleanse with Palo Santo or another cleansing herb. If you decide to cleanse with water, please make sure that your particular Crystal is water safe.

Here's how you can work with & benefit from the healing energy of Crystals:

*Wear as jewelry

*Hold stone in hand when extra support is needed

*Keep it in your pocket or your bra for all day support

*Use during meditation or yoga

*Place them throughout your spaces with intention (Ex: I keep Smoky Quartz & Red Aragonite on my work desk to keep me grounded & to ward off any negative energy)

Working with Herbal Magick

The actions of herbs that heal the physical body often coincide with their essences and heal the spiritual body. Thus, healing you from the inside out. Connecting, working, and healing with the help of a plant allies' essence (spiritual property) is what we resonate and connect with deeply. However, the incredible physical benefits of consuming and using plants topically just can't be ignored. Below you can find a list of herbs with their physical actions, spiritual essences, and magical uses to help you connect with your inner King of Swords.

All of the herbs listed here can be found in our King of Swords Organic Herbal Blend.

Spearmint

Herbal Actions: Digestive Tonic, Carminative, Analgesic, Cooling, Stimulant

In my humble opinion, Spearmint is elite to all the other mints. The way its slight sweetness rounds out the menthol flavor that is so prominent in Peppermint is just beautiful. Mint is known for its ability to balance the Throat Chakra, which I feel, is directly related to the abundance of cooling, analgesic properties it has. These properties make Spearmint beneficial when trying to clear congestion and soothe a dry, irritated throat.

Topically, Spearmint's antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties relieve itching associated with dryness and skin irritations. It helps cleanse the pores and tighten the skin which may promote the healing of minor abrasions.

Spearmint Magick:

Placing Spearmint on your altar will call in helpful spirits to be present and aid you in your magick. It's most used for purification spells and rituals but is also known to increase your mental powers when inhaled. Carry on your person and use in ritual baths for strength, success, and vitality.

Rooibos

Herbal Actions: Nervine, Adaptogen, Antispasmodic, Heart tonic

Rooibos, also known as Redbush, is unique because it is indigenous to South Africa’s mountainous region of Cederberg, where it still thrives today. When working with the King of Swords, it's important to remember that a part of speaking up for yourself is also listening and reflecting. Rooibos is a teacher, gently reminding us to balance our speaking with turning inward and listening.

Do you get the nervous cramps before public speaking? Drinking Roobis tea is great for your stomach since it is an antispasmodic agent which means it's powerful in easing stomach cramps and abdominal pains.

In topical application, Rooibos' high flavonoid levels make soaking in a bath of Rooibos tea ideal for soothing inflamed skin caused by eczema or other skin conditions & sunburn.

Rooibos Magick

Rooibos can be used in dream work, & magick dealing with grounding, inner peace & justice.

Lavender

Herbal Actions: Antibacterial, Antiseptic, Astringent, Nervine

If you've delved into the realm of aromatherapy, you have definitely come across Lavender. Lavender is well known for its calming properties, and its ability to melt away stress and relieve tension headaches. Its relaxing properties are the same when taken internally (like in the form of tea) and when applied topically to the skin (like in a bath or in the form of an oil).

When used topically, Lavender can relieve muscle spasms and comfort inflamed skin. It’s also a strong antiseptic that lends to inhibiting odor-producing bacteria, which is why it's a prominent ingredient in many natural deodorants.

Lavender Magick

Lavender has long been used in spells related to Love and used in baths for protection and purification. Consider carrying a small satchel of Lavender with you to maintain peacefulness throughout your day.

Red Clover

Herbal Actions: Tonic, Alterative, Nervine

Did you know those magical little clovers you searched for as a kid to find a lucky four leaf are highly nutritious? Red Clovers are known by their most defining characteristics which are the v-shaped stripe of white across the green leaves and their purple-red flower.

Red Clover is technically in the legume family which was a big surprise to me. It's used in traditional medicine to moderate hormones and combat menopausal symptoms. It has also been shown to be effective in reducing depression and anxiety symptoms. Red Clover's abundant isoflavone content stimulates the skin's collagen, and its antioxidant benefit helps maintain a youthful appearance.

Red Clover Magick

Red Clover is a token of good fortune. When added to bath water it encourages financial arrangements to go in your favor. Wear it as an amulet to bring success in all undertakings. As most of us remember, finding a four leafed clover is a symbol of luck. This is recalled in an Irish rhyme dating to medieval times that states a four-leafed clover has “one leaf for fame, one leaf for wealth, one for a faithful lover, and one leaf for glorious health.”

Affirmation Magick

Most of the Affirmations I have listed here were given to Mercedez by her Reiki Teacher- Alia, and can be used to assist in balancing the Chakras during Reiki sessions. You can use all of them, or particular ones you’re drawn to when working with the King of Swords. Choosing Affirmations that make you feel uncomfortable or inauthentic will be the most beneficial on your journey. I find that Affirmations work best for me when I focus on one at a time, for as long as needed. This could be saying it out loud, in my head, or during meditation every day for weeks, or even months. Once it doesn’t feel foreign or like I'm lying to myself, I know it's integrated and is truly a part of me and how I choose to live my life.

I always speak my truth with clarity and kindness.

I am open, clear, and honest.

I live an authentic life.

My words are supported by love and joy.

I vocalize my feelings and boundaries without fear

I make choices quickly and easily.
